Welcome to our home blog. It is for family and friends to see how we are managing to create a mini-homestead, convert our existing farm buildings and stay sane in the process.
We are in Northern Portugal and have just under one hectare of land in the middle of a forested area, which is part woodland, part terraces and has two small fields.
We hope to turn most of the terrace area back to deciduous forest and create some new habitats for local fauna. A few areas will be kept for creating a kitchen garden and orchard area for fruit and nut trees and we hope to grow crops to encourage a wider variety of birdlife to the area.
